***Flu clinics now on for 2016***  Eligible patients can now book into one of our flu clinics, which are on Saturday 15 October 2016 and Saturday 22 October. The flu vaccine is offered free on the NHS annually to:

  • anyone aged 65 and over*
  • pregnant women
  • children and adults with an underlying health condition (particularly long-term heart or respiratory disease)
  • children and adults with weakened immune systems

*You are eligible for the flu vaccine this year (2016-17) if you will be aged 65 and over on March 31 2017 – that is, you were born on or before March 31 1952. So, if you are currently 64 but will be 65 on March 31 2017, you do qualify.

Under 18s will be sent a letter inviting them to book an appointment but otherwise, letters will not be sent out so if you think you are eligible for a vaccination, contact the surgery on 01952 432568 to book your appointment. Please call after 10.00 to avoid our busier times.

Named GP for all patients. From 1st April 2015, the practice is required under the terms of the latest GP contract to allocate all patients a named accountable GP. If you wish to be told the name of your accountable GP, please ask the receptionists when you are next in the surgery. Having a named GP does not prevent you seeing any other doctor in the practice. Your named GP will not be available at all times and if your needs are urgent, you may need to discuss them with an alternative doctor. This notice applies to all patients at Ironbridge Medical Practice, including children. Patients over 75 have already been informed of their own GP.

Please note the practice is closed from 12.30 on the following dates due to county wide staff training:-

Wednesday 5 October 2016

Patients will be covered by Shropdoc on these afternoons. You can contact them on 0333 222 6655.

The pharmacist can provide all the appropriate advice and treatment and the patient will not need to be seen by the GP unless the pharmacist feels it is advisable.
