An opportunity has become available to join our friendly Customer Service Team on a part time basis of approximately 15 hours per week . Ideally you should also be prepared to work additional flexible hours on an ad-hoc basis to cover planned holiday leave or sickness cover within the team.
You will be responsible for greeting patients, answering the telephone, signposting patients in the right direction, booking appointments and answering queries in a kind and caring manner.
As the successful candidate, you will have a strong customer care background, pay excellent attention to detail, have strong IT skills, work well within a team and under pressure.

NHS PRESCRIPTION ORDERING DIRECT
Ironbridge Medical Practice are pleased to be able to offer a telephone ordering service for patients who want to order prescriptions. Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) will be available from 1st July 2019 on 01952 580350 - Lines are open Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm.
The NHS Prescription Ordering service (POD) service is the easy way for you to order your repeat prescription. All it takes is a simple phone call which you can make from the comfort of your own home - there's no need to go into your GP practice or pharmacy.
You'll speak to a fully trained call handler who will be able to discuss your prescription needs. Meaning, you'll only order the medication that you need, when you need it. This will help the NHS save money on wasted medicines which can then be used to provide other important services.
Who will you be talking to? The POD is staffed by dedicated, fully trained prescription clerks and clinical members of the Medicines Management team at the NHS Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group. They will have access to all your prescription records and immediate access to your GP Practice should the need arise.Your personal information is secure and confidential in line with NHS requirements.
Already use a pharmacy to order your repeat medication? Your pharmacy will no longer be permitted to order on your behalf. You will need to phone the POD 7 days before your medication is due to run out.
Your existing arrangements for preparing your prescription does not change. If you have a current arrangement with a pharmacy to deliver your prescription, this will continue.
Once you have made the telephone call your prescription request will be authorized by your GP practice within 48 hours (2 working days).
Please allow your Pharmacy a minimum of 24 hours (1 working day) to prepare your medicines.

There is no need for an appointment as the clinics operate on a ‘walk-in’ basis.

Get your Free NHS Health Check in Telford
We are all at risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease or dementia, but these diseases are preventable.
An NHS Health Check will assess your personal risk of developing one of these conditions, and give you advice and support to reduce your risk.
If you are aged 40 to 74 and you do not suffer from any of these conditions you will be invited by your G.P Practice to attend for an NHS Health Check.
If you do not want to wait for an invitation you can contact your G.P. practice and they will be able to arrange your appointment as long as you are eligible for the check.
